French Bell Striking Four Glass Clock (France, C. 1860)

Description

A good quality Paris made four glass clock dating to the mid 19th Century. It has a a rectangular case with thick bevel edge glass sides. The white enamel dial signed by the maker Rodanet of Paris. The 8 day movement strikes the hours and halves on a bell and has a mercury filled compensating pendulum. Julien Hilaire was born in 1810 and died in 1884. He is described as " an eminent maker of watches and chronometers"

Current Condition

The case retains its frosted gilding in excellent condition, which has just been cleaned. The movement has been fully restored in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months. If you wold like a video clip of this clock striking please email us.
