Antique 1905 Elgin Hunter Pocket Watch & Chain

An antique Elgin full hunter pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, grade 292, which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Elgin name and the serial number 11,376,049 dates it back to 1905. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and it is in good condition with just the odd small mark.

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition. Originally the watch would have had a glass lens but these often got broken over the years and were subsequently replaced with acrylic, a much more durable material.

The signed enamel dial has some hairline cracks but they are very faint and barely visible to the naked eye. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a double albert, 21cm long from T-bar to clasp.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.
