Scottish Longcase Clock

19th century
Description

An 8 day Scottish longcase clock by JAMES SMITH of GRANTOWN-ON-SPEY.

A superb flame mahogany case with birds-eye-maple and rosewood templates to the corners of the trunk and with crossbanding to the trunk door and base of the clock.

A swan neck pediment to the hood and with turned pillasters to both the hood and the trunk.

The arched painted dial has black Roman numerals with both subsidiary seconds and working date dials. beautoiful artwork to the corners and lunette and very finely crafted hands.

The 8 day rack striking movement strikes on a bell and has just been fully overhauled by our BHI registered staff.

A very elegant clock, fully guaranteed for 12mths.
