1918 Waltham P S Bartlett Pocket Watch & Chain

An antique Waltham P S Bartlett grade pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a good quality stem-winding movement, P S Bartlett grade with star wheel regulator, which is working nicely. Patten Sargeant Bartlett was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business. As well as being fully signed, this movement also has the serial number 22,003,871 which dates it back to 1918.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and it is in good condition for such an early piece, just the odd surface mark and some rubbing to the pattern on the back, just from use over the years.

The watch glass is in good condition.

The signed white enamel dial has a faint hairline crack between 7 and 8 but otherwise is in good condition. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers with numbers.

The watch comes with a single albert which measures 31.5cm long including the T-bar and clasp.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.
