1930s Limit No 2 Pocket Watch with Chain

A 1930s Limit No 2 pocket watch with chain.

The Limit brand was established in 1912. The very first watches were constructed in Switzerland. At that time the UK headquarters were based in Oldham, Greater Manchester.

In 1963, following a very successful 50 years’ trading, Time Products (UK) Ltd purchased the Limit brand and the operation remained in Oldham for a further 39 years.

This particular watch has a signed stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is nickel and is in good condition with just the odd minor mark, overall very nice for a 1930s piece.

The lens is glass has some surface marking but not too detrimental.

The signed dial looks good to the naked eye. If you look closely, there is a faint hairline between the centre and number 12, and a chip on the edge by number 7.

The watch comes with a single chain, 31.cm long including the clasps.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.
