The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1950s.
There is not a great deal of information available on Richard other than being listed in 1949 as "Richard Automatic, Richard SA, Morges/Saint-Jean" and in 1966 as “Richard SA, for automatics and chronographs”.

This particular watch has a signed Swiss hand-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch itself measures 33.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the nicely shaped lugs.
The case is in good condition, just one 1cm scratch on the case back, but otherwise just minor surface marks, all very acceptable for a 1950s piece.

The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, red centre seconds and outer minute markers. There is some marking to the dial but overall it has a most charming appearance.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
