Figured Walnut Westminster Chime Grandmother Clock (England, C. 1920)

Description

A good quality (English made throughout) grandmother clock in an outstanding figured walnut case. It has a shaped hood, with chamfered edges. The trunk has a long door that is crossbanded and quarter and bookmatched in figured walnut, the bombe base has matching veneers. The brass dial has a silvered chapter ring signed by the original retailer/maker Lawson of Brighton (Thomas Lawson was working in Brighton in the 19th Century, so this was presumably sold by his descendants.) It has a high quality 8 day Westminster chime movement that sounds the 1/4's on rods and has a long pendulum with a brass bob.

Current Condition

The case and dial are in excellent original condition. The movement has been fully serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months. If you would like a video clip of this clock chiming please email us.
