Gents 1954 Tissot Bumper Automatic Wrist Watch

A gents 1954 Tissot bumper automatic wrist watch.

The watch has a bumper automatic movement which is working nicely. Early automatic watches relied on the rotor ‘bumping’ backwards and forwards between two springs to maintain the power within the movement. Later automatic watches have the fully rotational rotor. The movement is signed Chs Tissot & Fils.

The watch itself measures 33.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is signed on both the inside and the outside of the screw-on case back. It also states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water. The winding crown is signed with the Tissot name.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish, there is a little marking but nothing too noticeable to the naked eye. Original daphine hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
