The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The watch has a key-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch was made by the Lancashire Watch Company to be sold as a private label watch, that is signed and offered for sale with the G Dowson & Son name. The movement is protected by a fitted inner cover. A winding key is included.

The watch measures 57mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop so it is larger than the standard 50mm size. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Chester 1898, together with the maker’s mark for Thomas Peter Hewitt (the Lancashire Watch Company). The case has light marks but overall is in good condition for a piece of its age. Some rubbing to the edge of the engine turned detail on the back of the watch.

The watch glass is in good condition, just a small chip to the bevelled edge.
The dial is signed G Dowson & Son and it is in lovely condition.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
