Figure Mahogany Longcase Clock (England, 1830 to 1840)

Description

An original mahogany longcase clock of simple form dating to the mid 19th Century. The case has an architectural pediment, reeded hood side and a long figured door and base. The hood has glazed sides. It has a 12"diameter painted enamel dial signed by the makers Reid & Sons of Newcastle. It has an 8 day bell striking movement that sounds the hours on a bell. Reid and Sons are listed as makers 1827-1858 and were clock, watch and chronometer makers.

Current Condition

The case is in excellent original condition, the movement has been fully serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months. The dial has had the blackwork restored, preserving the original ground.If you would like a video clip of this clock striking please email us.
