Gents 1950s Smiths De Luxe Watch, Made in England

Description

A gents 1950s Smiths De Luxe wrist watch, made in England.

The watch has a 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The watch does not have shockproofing which means that it was manufactured prior to 1958.

The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case has a Denisteel bezel and case back, with a plated centre… there is wear and pitting to the plate.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has a really good look with original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers. There is some darkening to the finish but still very easy to read the time, and it has the most charming appearance.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
