Description

A mid 18th century carved oak longcase clock, with a centre sweep seconds hand, phases of the moon and tidal indicators. The carved solid oak case has a swan neck pediment, reeded side pillars with Corinthian capital, and quartered side pillars to the trunk. The brass dial has corner spandrels, a silvered chapter ring, a sweep centre seconds hand and a rolling moon within the arch that displays the moons age and high and low tides. It was made by William Burton of Kendal, in The Lake District who is listed as a maker in 1750

Current Condition
