Worboys Antiques has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The brass dial has corner spandrels, a silvered chapter ring, a sweep centre seconds hand and a rolling moon within the arch that displays the moons age and high and low tides. It was made by William Burton of Kendal, in The Lake District who is listed as a maker in 1750
