1958 Gents Smiths De Luxe 9ct Gold Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 9 carat gold Smiths De Luxe wrist watch, made in England.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch itself measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1958, together with a maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison of the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific watch case maker. There is a faint inscription to the back of the watch from British Rail Eastern Region. The case back has a little gentle unevenness and some surface scratches but overall not bad at all for a late 1950s piece.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
