An Antique Hampden Springfield Coin Silver Pocket Watch

Description

The watch has a key-winding movement, Springfield grade, which is working nicely. A winding key is included. The movement carries the serial number 79646 which dates it back to 1877. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is marked as being coin silver, which is slightly less pure than the standard 925 sterling silver. The front of the case is in good condition while the back has some unevenness and also some wear to the engine turned detail, just from use. There is a small vacant cartouche to the centre.

The watch glass is in good condition.

The signed dial is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
