Description

On offer is this fine Smiths 17 jewel Antarctic model A.460 watch, in waterproof case, circa 1958. This is a part copy of the Smiths 1958 advertisement.” A.460/S Antarctic model. The official choice of the Expedition led by Dr. Fuchs and Sir Edmund Hillary”. The watch is in very nice original condition with only slight fading to the original fully signed dial. The original hands retain almost all their original luminous paint. The chrome case has just slight brassing to the bezel edge at 12 that is hardly noticeable, the case sides retain all the original plate. Fully signed 17 jewel movement in full working order. Unsigned stainless-steel waterproof screw down case back showing slight opening marks. These sort after watches are difficult to find in this condition.
