Description

Late 18th Century George III 30 Hour Longcase Clock in an attractive Oak Case.

The Movement has been Checked, Oiled and Tested to be in Full Working Condition. Charming Painted Dial with Flowers, Swags & Moon Phase signed Goodall Abberford. George Goodall (b1731 - worked Micklefield Yorks where he Married Elizabeth in 1753. He made the Barwick in Elmet church clock in 1769 and the Turret Clock at Moot Hall at Leed in 1787. He was part way through making the New Wakefield St. John Church Clock in 1796 when he died. His Son also George, born 1860, Finished the job. Geoge I is know to have numbered some clocks, this one is not and so could be by his son. George II had two children, his Daughter Mary Married Benjamin Barton who succeeded George I at Aberford.

Overall the Clock, with typical aging, is in Good Antique Condition and would make an attractive addition to a home. Height 88.5in or 225.5cm
