Gents 1950s Smiths Wrist Watch, Made in England

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 1950s Smiths wrist watch, Made in England.

The watch has a 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The serial number has the prefix letter C… prefix letters were first introduced by Smiths in 1948, starting with A, and C was reached by the end of the year. In fact the C prefix was used right up until 1959.

The watch itself measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is in beautiful condition and the shaped lugs are a charming feature, and very indicative of the 1950s.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in beautiful condition with original hands, a sub seconds dial and outer minute markers.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
