Antique Waltham full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely… the movement is export grade and there were only 17 manufacturing runs (1896-1899) which is low in comparison to something like the 610 grade of which there were 6000 runs. The movement is fully signed and the serial number of 8,921,998 dates it back to 1898. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated, made in England, probably by the Dennison Watch Case Company who had a close association with Waltham. There is some rubbing to the plate at the bottom of the watch, possibly where it has rubbed in a pocket over the years, but other than that, the outer case is in good condition. There are some scratches on the inside of the case backs.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.

Inside, there is an acrylic lens… the original glass ones were often replaced with acrylic as it is a more durable material and it is difficult to tell the difference when you look at it.

The white enamel dial has a small group of short hairlines at the top but otherwise looks good.
