Electa was a division of Gallet. Gallet is perhaps the oldest watch and clock making house with history dating back to Humbertus Gallet, a clock maker who became a citizen of Geneva in 1466. Today they are regarded as an historic Swiss manufacturer of high-end timepieces for professional, military, sports, racing, and aviation use.

This particular watch has a 15 jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is visible through the inspection lens on the back of the watch, probably a later addition as screws have been removed from the movement to allow a snug fit for the lens.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is chrome plated and has a screw-on bezel and back.

The main faces of the glass lenses are in good condition although the front one has some chips to the bevelled edge.

The white enamel dial has three faint hairlines although only one is visible to the naked eye. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes on a double chain.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
