A Gents 9 Carat Gold Art Deco Wrist Watch, 1931

Description

A gents 9 carat gold Art Deco wrist watch, 1931.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch itself measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 31.5mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks on the back of the watch for Edinburgh 1931, together with the initials BWC. The case has the odd mark and a little unevenness in places but overall very acceptable for such an early piece.

The convex lens is in good condition.

The dial is in its original untouched finish. It has an attractive textured 3-d bricks pattern, stylised numbers and Breguet style hands. There is some age related darkening to the dial but it does not detract from this very stylish watch.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
