18th Cent Oak Longcase Clock

Description

A nice original 18th Cent longcase clock by Philip Avenell of Guilford, Surrey. The case is in oak and with the exception of a replacement plinth is all original. The 30hr movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a most attractive brass dial with roman chapter ring, gilt brass spandrels and working date indicator.

The case is a little dry and could do with a good wax polish. The movement is in good working order and keeping good time. It has retained its original trunk door lock and key

With a little attention to the case you would have a very smart country longcase clock.

The maximum dimensions are:

198cm (78") high

48cm (19") wide

28cm (11") deep
