A Gents 1930s Silver Art Deco Wrist Watch

1920 - 1940
Description

A gents 1930s silver Art Deco wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch itself measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 32mm high excluding the lugs. The case is silver and there are rubbed hallmarks on the back of the watch for London (import mark) and the importer George Stockwell but the date letter is illegible. The case has some unevenness, mainly to the back.

The convex lens is in good condition.

The Art Deco dial is in its original finish and there is some darkening along with some fading to the stylised numbers. Breguet inspired hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an inner minute track.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
