Black Marble Mantel Clock (France, C. 1880)

19th century
Description

A small, black and rouge marble mantel clock. The polished slate case has a break arch top and has rouge marble moldings and an inset panel (the line is figuring in the marble only). It has a thick bevel edge glass with an enamel dial signed by the retailer Dixon. The 8 day movement strikes the hours and halves on a bell and was made by Japy Frere.

Current Condition

The case is in good condition, the movement has been fully serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months. If you would like a video clip of this clock striking please email us.
