Antique Thommen Silver Open Faced Pocket Watch and Chain

An antique Revue Thommen Swiss silver open faced pocket watch and chain.

G Thommen (Revue-Thommen) was founded in Waldenburg, Switzerland circa 1853 by Gedeon Thommen. They grew to be a fairly large, fully integrated watch manufacturing firm, meaning that they made their own "ebauches" or rough movements rather than buying them in from other producers.

This particular watch has a high grade stem-winding movement, with snail cam regulator, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Birmingham 1915 together with a case maker’s mark for the Dennison Watch Case Company. Overall the condition of the case is good with just one fairly shallow indentation to the back, and some gentle unevenness.

The watch glass is in good condition.

The white enamel dial is in lovely condition.

The watch comes with a single silver chain which measures 31cm long including the T-bar and the clasp, and a fob.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
