A Mid-size 9 Carat Gold Uno Wrist Watch, 1937

1920 - 1940
Description

A mid-size 9 carat gold Uno wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement with 15 jewels which is working nicely.

The watch itself measures 26mm wide excluding the winding crown and 31mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for London 1937 with the maker’s mark for the watch merchants Dimier Brothers. The back of the watch has been engraved, ‘Elsie to Sid, July 1916 – 1941’ which would suggest their silver wedding anniversary. There are a few little small “dings” to the back of the watch but overall the condition is good for such an early piece.

The convex lens is in good condition.

The textured dial is in its original finish and it is in beautiful condition with original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and a minute marker track.

A later leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
