Antique Waltham Traveler Hunter Pocket Watch, 1912

An antique Waltham Traveler full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, Traveler grade, which is working nicely. The serial number 18,370,586 dates it back to 1912. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case was probably made in England by the Dennison Watch Case Company (Aaron Dennison had a close association with Waltham). It is gold plated and was originally “guaranteed to 10 years”. Overall the case is in good condition with just minor surface marks.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens. It is very common for the original glass lenses to be replaced and we see this often… it is difficult to tell the difference as they look so similar but they are a lot more durable.

The signed dial is in lovely condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
