The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working well.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover inscribed R.S.Howorth from Aunty Sally July 7 1908.

The watch itself measures 49.6mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Star model made by the Dennison Watch Case Company and was originally guaranteed to wear 10 years . This case has blue Roman numerals to the front cover. The case has light surface marks from use and light wear to the edges on the back but overall it is in nice condition. The case back has monogrammed initials.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. The inner lens is plastic and is in nice condition. The white enamel dial is signed Waltham and is in nice condition.
The watch has blued steel hands designed so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed … with conventional hands, it would be impossible to tell which hand was which through the small lens.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
