Description

A fine inlaid rosewood mantel clock . A small lenticel below the decorative gilt handle to view the original silk suspension escapement . The silvered engine turned dial with Roman numerals . Boxwood stringing to all sides of the case and floral marquetry inlays . A fine French 8 day movement striking on a Bell , fine polished blued steel hands . Paul Garnier a Paris , 1801-1869 . This clock can be accurately dated as the Strike spring had the year 1849 engraved on it ! Paul Garnier received the silver medal at the Paris exhibition s of 1827,1834 and 1839. Gold medals in 1844 and 1849 . Standing 25cms (with Handle raised) 15cms wide and 12cms deep .
