Impressive 18th Cent London Longcase Clock

Description

An impressive mahogany longcase clock by the London maker John Taylor. There are several makers with this name listed in the 18th Cent and this clock dates from around 1780.

It has all the features you would expect from a good London clock of this period:

• Pergoda top with brass finials

• Brass inlaid columns to hood and trunk

• Five pillar movement with brass dial

• All brass pendulum and brass cased weights

• Strike/silent selector

• Well figured mahogany case

• Double plinth base

All in all a fabulous clock in excellent condition. The movement has recently been serviced and it is all working correctly and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

250cm (98.5") high

52cm (20.5") wide

27cm (10.5") deep
