Antique Silver Pocket Watch, Lancashire Watch Co

An antique silver pocket watch from the Lancashire Watch Co.

The watch has a key-wound movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner fitted cover. A winding key is included.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Chester 1904, with a maker’s mark TPH for Thomas Hewitt, the founder of the Lancashire Watch Company. The company was established in 1889 and was intended to be a rival for the big American and Swiss watch manufacturers but unfortunately it failed and the company was closed in 1910.

The case is in good condition with just a little unevenness to the back, but nothing serious at all.

The watch glass has a little marking but is very acceptable.

The white enamel dial is in good condition and it has the name of the original London retailer.

The paperwork in the background is just a facsimile and is not included.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
