18th Cent 8 Day Longcase Clock Movement

Description

A newly restored 8 day longcase clock movement by Thomas Brown of Chester. He is listed as working there from 1766 to 1784. It has a very smart 12” brass dial with silvered chapter ring and centre. It has gilt spandrels, subsidiary seconds dial and working date indicator.

It has recently been restored and fitted with new gut lines. It runs and strikes with pressure on the wheels.
