Early 20th C Full Hunter Pocket Watch, “The Angus"

1920 - 1940
Description

An early 20th Century full hunter pocket watch, “The Angus”.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is working nicely. The movement is signed “The Angus” and it is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company and it is gold plated, originally “guaranteed to wear 10 years”. The case is in good condition with just light surface marks and a small pin prick “ding” to the front, nothing serious at all.

The winding crown presses in to open the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens. It is very common for the original glass lenses to be replaced and we see this often… it is difficult to tell the difference as they look so similar but they are a lot more durable.

The signed enamel dial is in very nice condition.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
