Antique Half Hunter Pocket Watch, Albert and Box

An antique half hunter pocket watch with single albert, fob and box.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. It is 10ct gold plated and was originally “guaranteed to wear 20 years”. There are a few minor marks and a fairly shallow indentation to the front. The back of the watch has some very elaborate initials, beautifully engraved.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens which is in lovely condition. It is very common for the original glass lens to be replaced and we see this often… it is difficult to tell the difference as they look so similar but they are a lot more durable.

The white enamel dial is in good condition. If viewed through a jeweller’s loupe, there is a very very faint hairline crack, barely discernible even when magnified. Blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hand so the hands can be identified even when the front cover is closed.

The watch comes with a single chain which measures 42cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. There is also a shorter chain attached upon which hangs a fob with religious quotes, and an address in Belfast.

The watch and chain comes in a vintage presentation box.
