Scottish Mahogany Drumhead Longcase Clock

19th century
Description

A small, well proportioned, Edinburgh made Regency mahogany drumhead longcase clock. It has a drum shaped hood, with a brass bezel, a shaped neck and bowed sections top and bottom of the long door. The door has crossbanding, a cockbeaded figured panel and is flanked by turned side pillars. It has a figured and crossbanded base with a shaped plinth base. It has an 8 day movement that strikes the hours on a bell. The white enamel dial has a subsidiary seconds dial and a dummy date dial. The dial is signed by the maker Robertson, Edinburgh. A John Robertson is listed as working in Edinburgh 1783-1821.

Current Condition

The case has been repolished and wax finished, the movement has been fully serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months. If you would like a video clip of this clock striking please email us.
