Ornate French Slate and Bronze Mantel Clock (France, C. 1890)

Description

This is a very heavy ornate French black slate clock with a neoclassical Bronze figure of a scholar and his scrolls adjacent. The bronze has a good detail, colour, patina and the polished slate is in excellent original condition. The case also has brass bindings and feet. It has a French 8 day countwheel, pendulum movement striking on a bell with a white enamel dial with no chips or marks. The bezel is embossed and fitted with a flat bevel edge glass. The movement will be serviced before sale

Current Condition

The clock is in excellent original condition. The movement will be serviced before sale at our own workshops and sold with a 12 month guarantee
