Edwardian Mahogany and Inlay Striking Mantel Clock (France, 1900)

Description

A French mahogany arch top mantel clock with boxwood stringing and inlay to the front and chamfered base. The clock is raised on 4 brass ball feet and has an embossed brass bezel with a flat bevel edged glass and an unusual ornate cream and blue enameled dial with Fleur-de-lis brass hands. It has an French 8 day pendulum movement with countwheel strike mechanism, striking the hours and half hours on a gong

Current Condition

The case is in good original condition, French polished to a high finish. There is a small crack in the wood on the bottom right hand side of the case as shown in the pictures. The brass-work is polished and lacquered to prevent tanishing and the movement has been serviced at our own workshops and is sold with a 12 month guarantee
