A Gents 9 Carat Gold 1950s Omega Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 9 carat gold 1950s Omega wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, calibre 267, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 15,604,464 dates it back to around 1957.

The watch itself measures 32.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1958 with a maker’s mark for the Dennison Watch Case Company. Movements were often imported to the UK to be cased as it was a way of avoiding high import taxes on precious metals. The case is in good condition.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish, dauphine hands which appear to be the originals, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
