A Lady’s Antique Elgin Gold Plated Fob Watch, 1894

Description

A lady’s antique gold plated fob watch by Elgin.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 5,235,228 dates it back to 1894. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 36mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 14k gold filled and was made by the Keystone Watch case Company for Elgin. The case is exquisitely detailed on all sides and has a small vacant cartouche to the front.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, both the lens and the signed white enamel are in lovely condition… blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a vintage presentation box from a Regent Street retailer.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
