An Antique Swiss Open Faced Pocket Watch

1900 - 1920
Description

An antique Swiss open faced pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is working nicely.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case was made in England and is gold plated. It was usual for Swiss movements to be imported into the UK and then they were subsequently cased and sold onto jewellers and retailers. A previous owner’s initials have been engraved very tastefully into the case back.

A later acrylic lens has been fitted.

The white enamel dial is in good condition, with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
