Oak Longcase Clock (England, C. 1820)

19th century
Description

A small, original, early 19th Century cottage longcase clock from Herefordshire. It has a solid oak case, with a swan neck pedment and reeded side columns. The door has mahogany crossbanding and a matching inlay in the base. The painted dial has a date aperture and embossed brass hands and is signed by the maker, T C Scarrett of Kington, who is listed as a maker in 1790. It has a 30 hour duration movement that strikes the hours on a bell.

Current Condition

The case and dial are in good original condition, the movement has been fully restored in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months. If you would like a video clip of the clock striking please email us.
