Waltham Hunter Pocket Watch, Chain and Compass Fob

An antique Waltham Traveler full hunter pocket watch, chain and compass fob.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed and it has the serial number 17,948,311 which dates it back to 1910. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover upon which are engraved details of when the watch was given by a John Cameron to Major Roberts RAMC (SR) - Royal Army Medical Corps, Special Reserve - in 1915.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made in England by Aaron Dennison who was involved in various watch related enterprises in the US before emigrating to Birmingham, and supplying the London office of Waltham. The case has a little unevenness to the front and back but nothing too detrimental at all.

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens which is in good order, over a white enamel dial which is in beautiful condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a single albert, 28cm long including the T-bar and the clasp, with an interesting compass fob.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
