Large Silver Plated French Carriage Clock (France, C. 1890)

19th century
Description

A Large French silver plated carriage clock dating to the late 19th Century. It has a traditional corniche case, with a bevel edge oval top glass, an enamel dial with a Roman numeral chapter ring and a subsidiary alarm dial. The 8 day movement has an alarm mechanism and a lever platform escapement. Made by Richard & Co of Paris. The dial is signed by Howell and James, who were suppliers to Queen Victoria and were in Regent Street.

Current Condition

The case s in excellent condition, the movement has been serviced in our own workshops benefits from a good quality replacement lever platform and is guaranteed for 12 months.
