Description

An imposing carved giltwood and painted mantel clock in the Louis Xvth style, made around 1900. It has a waisted case, with a carved ribbon and acanthus swag above the dial, and a painted floral panel below with matching sides. Ithe enamel dial has a high dome glass and fancy pierced brass hands. The enamel dial is signed Du Tertre, Paris, who was originally an 18th Century Parisian maker whose trading name continued to be used. The 8 day bell striking movement was made by Samuel Marti and is stamped with his 1900 medal attribute.

Current Condition
