Good French Repeating Carriage Clock by Drocourt

Description

A good late 19th century French CARRIAGE CLOCK by the famous maker: Alfred Drocourt.

In its "Corniche" case, this good clock strikes hours and half-hours on a gong and repeats hours at will. It retains its original lever platform escapement and perfect enamel dial with original blued steel hands. It is numbered 25553 and is complete with its original leather carrying case and key, both numbered. Perfect working order.

The company of Alfred Drocourt made "superb carriage clocks"; their travelling cases and keys usually numbered, up to over 35,000. See "Carriage Clocks" by Charles Allix & Peter Bonnert.
