Waltham Full Hunter Pocket Watch, Chain & Box

A 1919 Waltham full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a P S Bartlett grade stem-winding movement with the Church 1892 Star Wheel regulator, which has been fully tested and is working well. The grade was named after Patten Sargeant Bartlett who was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business. As well as being fully signed, the movement also has the serial number 22,037,075 which dates it back to 1919. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The gold plated case was made in England by the watch case maker Aaron Dennison, and it is in very nice condition.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside is a glass lens which is in good condition and a white signed enamel dial which is also in lovely condition, and the red minute numbers around the edge are a particularly handsome feature.

The watch comes with a double albert with each chain measuring 22cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. There is also a shorter central chain which has a bloodstone and carnelian swivel.

The watch comes in an antique presentation box.
