Antique P S Bartlett Waltham Hunter Pocket Watch

An antique P S Bartlett Waltham full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a P S Bartlett grade movement, with the Church 1892 Star Wheel regulator, which has been fully tested and is working well. The grade was named after Patten Sargeant Bartlett who was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business.

The movement is signed and it has the serial number 10,544,940 which dates it back to 1901. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and was made by the Crescent Watch Case Company. It is beautifully detailed on both the front and the back, and it is in good condition with just the odd mark, nothing serious at all.

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens and a beautiful white enamel dial with hand painted detail, blued steel hands and outer minute markers. There are some fairly faint hairline cracks.
