A Gents 9ct Gold Tudor Wrist Watch, 1960

Description

A gents 9ct gold Tudor wrist watch.

38 years after the first Rolex watches were made, Hans Wilsdorf (founder of Rolex) started a new sub-brand called Tudor, originating from his love of England and in particular the time of the Tudors.

This particular watch has a signed hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Edinburgh 1960 with a maker’s mark of RWC (for Rolex Watch Company) and also the name Rolex. The case is in good condition with just light surface scratches to the back. The winding crown has the Rolex logo.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has a little marking but not too detrimental. A small amount of the infill has come out of the hands but it is barely discernible to the naked eye.

A new brown leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
