18th Cent Mahogany Moon Dial Long Case Grandfather Clock

Description

A superb quality 18th Cent mahogany longcase clock by Thomas Harrison of Liverpool. He is listed as working there from 1773 to 1814.

The case is in beautifully figured mahogany and is in superb condition. The hood has double reeded columns and beautiful verre eglomise panels. The base has unusual brick effect and the trunk door has a working lock and key

The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a most attractive brass and silvered dial. It has a subsidiary seconds dial and unusual centre date hand. To the arch is a moon phase indicator with an interesting engraved motto.

All in all a fabulous clock.

The maximum dimensions are:

231cm(91") high excluding finial (finial + 10cm(4"))
