Compact London Regency Mahogany Longcase Clock

Description

Thomas Gammage, LONDON: a good quality Regency period mahogany LONGCASE CLOCK of compact size.

The case has a single finial surmount; fretwork panels to the hood; long trunk door with arched top and panelled base with double plinth. The 8-day movement (which is signed "Gammage" inside) strikes hours on a bell and retains its original painted convex dial; blued steel hands; convex glass and good cast bezel. Full working order and guaranteed at least 2 years. 6ft 10ins (208cms) high.

*Thomas Gammage, who at one time worked for James McCabe was a member of the Clockmakers Company from: 1814-1840 and succeeded Wm. Robson who died in 1823.
